The Anchoring ritual by Terrence the Teacher

Acclaimed wellbeing expert and clinical hypnotherapist Terrence the Teacher has designed for Prismologie an easy to use wellbeing ritual based on Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP). This wonderful ritual can be used alongside our Meridian Balms to reduce anxiety and improve mental wellbeing.

According to Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) an anchor is an external stimulus that triggers a particular internal state or response. Humans set anchors and respond to them all the time; for example, a typical culturally installed anchor is the hand-shaking response. As soon as someone raises their hand towards you, you automatically raise your hand back.

Anchors can be set by touch, sound of voice, physical surroundings or other stimuli. Anchors can become a way to access feel-good feelings in those moments when you need some assistance to change your mood or just to strengthen your resolve when having to get things done. This is one of the reasons why many top sports people use anchors verye ffectively in order to get the winning feeling when they need it the most.

In this ritual, Terrence uses a simple 3 step NLP technique to help people take control of their own state of mind by establishing feel good anchors based on the amazing colours and aromas of the products.

Start by choosing the Meridian Balm that represents the feelings and emotions you would like to anchor. Each Balm, because of its colour and aroma, will be connected to different moods, emotions and feelings.

How to choose YOUR Balm

THE RITUAL STEP BY STEP

While holding the Balm in one hand

· Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths

· With your eyes still closed, imagine yourself surrounded by the feelings that your selected balm represents.

· Really let those feelings embrace you.

· You are being clear about the positive state you ideally want to create.

WITH YOUR EYES STILL CLOSED

·  Recall a specific occasion or time in your past when you actually felt those feelings.

· When you were in a state of for example of feeling loved and nurtured.

· Relive that experience as vividly as possible. Really engaged with the experience remembering sights, sounds, physical feelings and even internal sensations.

It's now time to Set the Anchor

· Open your eyes and tap both of your wrists six times with the Balm.

· Rub the two wrists together, so the skin can absorb the Balm.

· Then take in a deep breath of the Meridian Balm’s aroma by smelling your wrists.

· Really focus on the scent, while holding on to the positive state you have created.
